Accelerated Reader
As per district curriculum guidelines, we will be using Accelerated Reader. AR is 10% of the student's quarter grade. The grade will be added at the end of each quarter and will consist of two scores: accuracy and point goal. Each student will be assigned points based on their individual reading level and the time given to read each week at school during homeroom and library time. We will be visiting the RMS library weekly to make sure to have proper reading material to reach this goal.
Students will have a reading log to fill out the start and end date of the book they are reading. This needs to be signed prior to taking the AR test. The monitor of the test will also sign the log once a test has been taken and a score has been recorded.
Please make sure to sign up for AR Home Connect. This will allow parents and students access to their AR file from home to keep track of points earned and accuracy. It will even send an email when a student completes a test.
