1. Log in to Study Island and complete your assignment on text evidence in literature. Make sure to read the lesson prior to answering questions. You need to earn a ribbon in order to complete the lesson. To earn a ribbon, you need to score at least a 70%.
2. Read 180 independent reading (20 minutes). Make sure to let me know when you finish a book or ERead.
3. Complete any work that you have not finished from this quarter. Remember, your narrative is still something that you need to finish if you haven't already done so. This assignment covers two of your learning standards for this quarter. Also, if you haven't read and taken the test on "The Message", please finish that as well. This short story also covers two of your standards as well.

Happy Monday! I will be at RMS today cleaning out 8th grade lockers and distributing items to my homeroom students. I will not be checking my computer as often, so if you have questions I may not get to them as quickly as I have been.

1. Read 180 independent reading (20 minutes). Make sure to message/email me when you have finished a book.
2. Research a list of common prepositions. Create a bingo card that is 5 squares x 5 squares. It does not need to be fancy. The middle square will be free, but you need to pick prepositions from the list to create the rest of your bingo card. During our Zoom meeting tomorrow, we will be playing preposition Bingo.
We will be meeting for our class Zoom meeting tomorrow. I hope to see you there for a fun game of Bingo.

1. Today, you need to proofread and edit your narrative. Make sure that you have checked for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. Also, look for transitions. Make sure that you have punctuated your dialogue correctly as well. Look back at the note sheet that I provided last week. I am asking you to find five words in your narrative that you can replace with a synonym to make it more vivid language. Please highlight the new word. Once you are done editing, please submit/turn in your essay.
2. Complete Read 180 software (20 minutes). Make sure that you are letting me know when you finish a segment.
Don't forget that we will have a Zoom meeting tomorrow at our regularly scheduled time.

2. Make sure that your graphic organizer is complete for your argumentative essay! Go back and make sure that you have your text evidence cited with the paragraph number. Also, make sure you have a hook, strong thesis, and a counter argument/rebuttal with text evidence! If needed, go back and reread your two articles to make sure you have strong text evidence. If you had trouble using Kami...just write out the organizer on a sheet of paper!
It is super important that you attend the Zoom meeting tomorrow at 11! We will go over the essay rubric one last time and review the parts of the essay. Please be there!

Attached to classwork, I have added the items that you need to begin your last argumentative essay (Benchmark 3). For today, please read and annotate "Drawbacks of year-round schools" and "Benefits of year round schools". We will complete the graphic organizer for the essay tomorrow if you want to work ahead.

Read 180 assignments are as follows:
1. Complete the Covid19 journal that we have been working on. The entire journal is due today. Remember, one of the standards that I am looking at for 4th quarter is that you use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar in writing. Please make sure that you proofread your journal prior to turning it in! Also, go back and make corrections on the prior entries that I have commented on. Most of the journal prompts have several parts to it, so make sure you are answering all parts of the prompt in complete sentences.
2. Read 180 independent reading (20 minutes). Remember, you need to read 2 eReads, 1 fiction and 1 nonfiction book for this quarter. Fiction/nonfiction reading is also part of the standards that I will be assessing at the end of the quarter.
3. Read 180 software (15 minutes). Don't forget to let me know when you finish a segment.
